Mehryn Kraker, a 2012 graduate of West Allis Central High School, was recently selected in the third round to play for the Washington Mystics of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).  Mehryn attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and her basketball career resulted in numerous awards:

  • ESPNW Mid-major National Player of the Year 2016-17
  • Division I AAA National Scholar/Athlete of the Year 2016-17
  • Horizon League Player of the Year 2016-17
  • Horizon League Scholar/Athlete of the Year 2016-17
  • UW-Green Bay Female Athlete of the Year 2015-16
  • Horizon League All-Freshman Team 2013-14
  • 2nd Team All-Horizon League 2014-15 and 2015-16
  • UW-Green Bay All-time 3 Point Shooter- 234 shots made
  • UW-Green Bay Single Season 3 Point Shooter- 75 shots made
  • UW-Green Bay 4th all-time leading scorer- 1,671 points

Mehryn is only the second player in University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Women’s Basketball history to be drafted into the WNBA.  She is the daughter of Peter & Colleen Kraker of West Allis.  The West Allis-West Milwaukee School District congratulates Mehryn on her outstanding achievements and the opportunity to play professional basketball with the Washington Mystics.
