Science is an area of study necessary for all students’ preparation for knowledge of the natural world, developing skills of keen observation and interpretation of data. Students taking science offerings will increase their understanding force and motion, knowledge of chemical structure and the environment and the inter connectedness of scientific work that play an ever increasing role in all of our lives. The graduation requirement of the State of Wisconsin and the School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee specifies a minimum of two credits of science instruction to include the biological and physical sciences. Additional science courses are recommended for students interested in career pathways related to scientific research, chemistry, geology, environmental studies, physics, conservation, astronomy, biology, and/or medicine.
