The African-American abolitionist leader Frederick Douglass once said, “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

This statement says a lot about an important aspect of education that is just as important as any curricula. As educators, we have to build those positive relationships to help motivate students, to help create trust in our students, and to help guide our students to be successful in their education and in every facet of their lives.

History: I grew up on the East side of Milwaukee and graduated from Riverside University High School.  After high school I joined the US Army where I served 2 years of active duty as a tank gunner.  I continued to serve our country in the Army Reserves for another 9 years as a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) instructor while also attending college, which was the key factor in my decision to pursue a career in education.  Upon graduating from college I began my teaching career here at West Allis Central where I taught Social Studies for 20 years and have coached the swim teams and soccer teams.

In my free time in enjoy coaching club soccer for Croatian Eagles Soccer Club, and being outdoors with my wife and four children hiking, camping, and hunting.
